Beachbody LIVE cuts through the clutter with unique workouts for every body.

August 1, 2019

Over the past decade there has been a shift to pre-design group fitness. With so many options, it can get overwhelming.

Enter Beachbody LIVE, the group fitness division of Beachbody, LLC, whose mission is to provide results-oriented, innovative and inspiring workouts for people of every age and fitness level. Beachbody LIVE offers a variety of pre-designed group fitness formats based on some of the world’s best-selling workouts and since its launch in 2012 has brought a variety of group fitness formats ranging from strength to cardio, dance to mind-body, to gyms and facilities across the U.S., Canada and the UK.

“Our group fitness formats are carefully designed and tested to work for people of every age and fitness level,” explains Amy Bridgeo, executive director of Beachbody LIVE. “Backed by millions of dollars in advertising over the past 20 years, our fitness brands are household names made famous by celebrity trainers like Tony Horton and Shaun T.”

Its portfolio of classes includes P90X®, INSANITY®, PiYo®, CORE DE FORCE®, TransformTM and Turbo Kick®. “We have a format for everybody and every body,” adds Bridgeo. “We are instructors and class-goers bonded by sweat and a shared journey where fitness is fun.

Beachbody LIVE’s mantra is to truly aspire to be inclusive and accessible to everyone. With a complete portfolio, it not only has a workout in every category, but each workout has progressions and modifications based on an individual’s fitness level. It must be working — Beachbody LIVE has trained tens of thousands of instructors across the U.S., Canada and the UK.

Keeping Members Engaged

The key is in creating workouts that not only get people results, but keep members engaged and coming back for more.

“We are constantly innovating and evolving our classes to meet the changing desires of the consumer and to keep in line with current scientific research,” Bridgeo continues. “With Beachbody LIVE formats, our goal is to create a workout that is not only fun for the first 30 days, but is one that you look forward to doing for years to come.”

Indeed, two of Beachbody LIVE’s most popular classes, PiYo and Turbo Kick, have been in the group ex room for nearly two decades. Bridgeo attributes that longevity to the programs’ ability to offer safe, fun and effective workouts for people of all ages. An added benefit for clubs: Beachbody LIVE programming has no licensing fees and no special equipment needed, making it simple and cost-effective to bring to a facility.

Plus, Beachbody LIVE prides itself on the fact that its customers are actually instructors who are a part of one large, happy, healthy family.

“Attending one of our Beachbody LIVE Instructor Trainings does not mean that our relationship ends there,” Bridgeo explains. “One of the best parts of becoming a Beachbody LIVE instructor is that you then have access to an entire community of like-minded instructors and fitness enthusiasts. We are a community where you learn and grow together.”

To take this growth to a higher level, instructors have the option of joining its monthly membership program, PRO Team, which provides them with online access to training videos, marketing materials, articles and videos, along with a new workout with corresponding music every other month.

“Being a PRO Team member is the best way to continually enhance your instructor skills and help others reach their health and fitness goals,” she adds.

The company will be out in full force at FIBO USA in October, showing all things Beachbody LIVE. This includes its six different currently available workouts, each of which will be showcased throughout FIBO USA. Whether it’s a featured showcase session or a simple workout demo, attendees will have the opportunity to check out – or work out – with a Master Trainers to show why its workouts are so popular.

Discounts on the Way

“If you want to see our workouts in action, get some more information on becoming an instructor or chat with our Master Trainers, then you’ll want to see us at FIBO USA,” Bridgeo says. “Think of it as your opportunity to learn everything you can about Beachbody LIVE, get your questions answered and walk away with some free swag.” She hints that they might even be offering a discount on instructor trainings for those who stop by.

All of this leads to what promises to be an exciting 2020 and beyond for Beachbody LIVE, which is constantly looking to add new formats to its portfolio to keep classes fresh and exciting for its instructors.

But even beyond new classes, the company is constantly evolving its existing classes based on industry trends. An example: With shorter, higher-intensity style classes still topping the charts in popularity, Beachbody LIVE’s newest class, Transform LIVE, launched this summer as a 30-minute, high-intensity, cardio conditioning class that uses a step for an effective, efficient workout. FIBO USA will be the first conference to see Transform LIVE in action.

Beachbody LIVE is certainly not stopping there.

“We have a few ideas for our next launch, but you’ll have to wait with everyone else to hear about that,” Bridgeo teases.

With a generally younger and tech-savvy core audience, Beachbody LIVE knows it needs to go where its instructors and members live. And that means a healthy social media effort. “Social media is no longer a ‘nice to have,’ it’s a necessity,” explains Amy Bridgeo. “It’s a great way for us to showcase our classes and connect with our customers. With Millennials becoming a larger and larger part of our target audience we are seeing lots of focus on all things digital. Social media is where we do the bulk of our marketing these days and it is where we get our best feedback to help us evolve.”
